The idea for the platform began during a real-life moment inside a Jamaican tax office. While waiting in a long line, founder K. Shakes watched an elderly gentleman struggle to access his records online. After helping him navigate the system directly from a phone, one thing became clear: important information and services should not feel this difficult to access.
As a Jamaican-born creator, property owner, and professional with more than 25 years of experience in social services and community advocacy, K. understood both the frustration and the gap. Many Jamaicans abroad are forced to navigate property matters, government systems, utilities, travel logistics, and online services from thousands of miles away — often with limited guidance and confusing information.

K. Shakes is originally from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, and currently resides in the United States. With more than 25 years of experience in social services and community-focused work, she has built a career centered around helping people find clarity, support, and practical solutions during difficult or confusing processes.
Her connection to Jamaica remains a big part of who she is and continues to influence her creative and professional work. Having navigated Jamaican systems from abroad herself, she knows firsthand how isolating and confusing that process can be.
Outside of work, K. enjoys spending time with family, gardening, photography, traveling, and exploring the beauty and culture of Caribbean life.
